---------------------------------------------- ENGLISH : DETAILS AND METHODOLOGY OF THE TABLE http://sycomoreen.free.fr/syco_Golf_GTE85PLUS_FAQ.html#2412016 _________________________________ COLUMN N°1 : 3 different hypotheses of distances : they are matching with the 3 most representative trips of a vehicle : 1) the crossing of a country 2) the links between cities 3) the daily small displacements _________________________________ COLUMN N°2 : hypotheses of fossil fuel consumption. These numbers are given for a car such as a Golf 7 model with a quite economical way to drive. The overconsumption due to cold engine is taken in account (7L/100 km on short trip), until the nominal consumption (hot engine, 6L/100 km) _________________________________ COLUMN N°3 : E85 consumption. The E85 is sold in France as a fuel mixture comprising, proportionally to the volume : 1) 15% of gasoline without lead 2) and 85% of ethanol Nevertheless in winter, it is sold as E65 (65% ethanol - 35% of gasoline) to make easier the starts of the engine with cold weather. At the spring, some E70 is sold, in the summer, it is progressing until the E85. The table is ALWAYS computing on the E85 because the Golf GTE, thanks to its hybrid thermal-electric system and its direct high pressure injection has no starting problem for the 1.4L TSI. _________________________________ COLUMN N°4 : Consumption of renewable electricity. Lasting all the year, the GTE85 PLUS is taking advantage from an entirely carbon free photovoltaic electricity coming from the sun. The proposed numbers are expecting the full electric reload for each new displacement. The available electric capacity of the GTE is from 6 to 6,5 kWh, either 40 to 50 km. _________________________________ COLUMN N°5 : saved fossil gasoline It is the amount of fossil gasoline which is not burned. It can be got by the formula, on each line : COLUMN[2] - 0.15 x COLUMN[3] _________________________________ COLUMN N°6 : 100% gasoline kilometric costs It is only the price of the fuel for an equivalent vehicle which would drive with gasoline, with the hypotheses of tariffs for january 2017 in France (1.35€/L). This cost in not taking in account all the other expenses which are linked to a véhicle (insurance, maintenance, repairs...) ; these other expenses are no longer mattering in this survey. _________________________________ COLUMN N°7 : GTE85+'s kilometric costs It is only the price of the energies which are used for the GTE85+, with the hypotheses of tariffs for january 2017 in France (0.13 € / kWh, 0.6€/L of E85). This cost in not taking in account all the other expenses which are linked to a véhicle (insurance, maintenance, repairs...) ; these other expenses are no longer mattering in this survey. _________________________________ COLUMN N°8 : Reducing factor of the global CO2 emissions with the GTE85+ The ADEME (French Administration for Energy) is considering that to drive with pure bioethanol (E100) is reducing the global CO2 emissions of 66% for the alcohol coming from the sugar beets in comparison to a car which is driving with gasoline. Source : Etude Analyses de Cycle de Vie appliquées aux biocarburants de 1ère génération consommés en France, published the 8th April 2010 by ADEME-MEEDEM-MAAP-France Agrimer The SYCOMOREEN's photovoltaic plants have more than 4 years old solar panels and this energy is 100% carbon free. According to these hypotheses, if we put FCO2 as the reducing factor of CO2 emissions, we can get it by the formula : FCO2 = CO2 produced by the pure gasoline consumption / (CO2 produced by the 15% of gasoline in the E85 + CO2 produced by 85% of ethanol in the E85 + CO2 produced by the needed electricity to load the batteries) The emissions taken in account are absolute : a 1/0,87 factor is injected in the table to integrate the fossil energy which is required to extract/transport/refine a liter of gasoline. _________________________________ In any case, you can achieve your own simulations by using the automatic calculator : http://sycomoreen.free.fr/docs_multimedia/FCO2_vehicule_hybride_GTE85_PLUS.xls
