Rotary Bi-Plan Wind Turbine  (ROBIPLAN ®)

1. The Original Concept 2. Ressources and Photos 3. The scientific studies by SYCOMOREEN 4. Common works HA PHAM / SORTINO

Pascal HA PHAM was asking SYCOMOREEN a few time after his discoveries about the ROBIPLAN ® to achieve scientific studies.

There works and researches have focused on the the main following axes :
1) To set a State of the Art of the windturbines technologies and to theorically estimate the yield of a ROBIPLAN ® wind turbine
2) To propose ROBIPLAN's ® cinematics which benefit from all the swept surface by the ROBIPLAN's ® blades
3) Theory of the kinetic limit of vehicles moving while facing the wind and with the only power of the wind

1) State of the art about wind technologies and yield[February 9th, 2009]

This scientific survey put in place the ROBIPLAN's ® technology in comparison to existing devices and developped a mathematical outstanding model to estimate the theoretical yield of this new type of wind turbine, classically defined as the ratio between the power given by the blades to the flow of kinetic power on the turbine.

1) The BIROBIPLAN's kinematics [June 30th, 2009]

Pascal HA PHAM, inventor of the original concept about ROBIPLAN's ® windturbine, and also the scientific study of Februar 2009 achieved by SYCOMOREEN have put to the light a promising possibility to use 2 contra rotary ROBIPLAN ® windturbines contrarotatives, and place one after the other in the direction of the flow of the fluid. This special organization is called BIROBI, or BIROBIPLAN.

3) Theory of the kinetic limit of vehicles facing the wind and moving with the only power of wind

To navigate with the only strength of the wind is an art which is practiced since many centuries by the sailors. But the sea transportation has significantly modernized itself with the Diesel engines, which are consuming a lot of fuel. Thus the question is to know if carrying a wind turbine can give a benefit to move a mobile ship, either it is terrestrial or maritime, even in the worst situation where the sail totally fails : when it is exactly facing the wind.
.

This is a fascinating subject for Pascal HA PHAM  with its prototype ROBIMOV'IT : he achieved to make it go ahead while facing the wind, with the only power of its ROBIPLAN ® wind turbine

and SYCOMOREEN worked on this subject in 2 steps ;

3.a) [December 1st, 2008] After a brief state of the art of wind propelling devices, a whole computing model of wind propelled vehicles, with balance of power, fluid drags as rolling resistance forces, with lateral or longitudinal winds.

3.b) [May 29th, 2009] Then the definition of the purely theoretical issue : is it possible to move while facing the wind with a wind turbine ? If yes, what is the theoretical maximum ratio of the windspeed that one can reach while neglecting all the drags of the vehicle (except the drag of the wind turbine) ? Sycomoreen is answering YES with a theoretical maximal limit of 80% of the absolute speed of the facing wind (while using the Betz's limit). The ROBIPLAN ® wind turbine of Pascal HA PHAM, of MONOROBI type, are reaching 25%, and the BIROBI type is better with 66% ;  the classical tri-blade windturbines are reaching 56%.
