SYCOMOREEN
has designed for its non rotary POGDC engines an efficient and simple
system to vary continuously the compression ratio with
values
from 5 to 25 : it allows to better master the combustion, the
overfeeding, encouraging the cleaning of the burnt gases and the
downsizing.
The POGDC engines have for every room (CA, CB, CC, CD, CE) an
organ to modify the volume (VARA, VARB, VARC, VARD, VARE)
which
communicates with the room of combustion and is mobile between an
advanced position and a remote position
Thus, the rate of compression
can be adapted to approach of the optimal conditions of working : -high if the organ (VAR) is in advanced
position
-
low if the organ (VAR) is in remote position
Acoording
to the required combustion (essence ou Diesel), of preference the organ
(VAR)
to vary the compression ratio can carry an injector and/or a spark plug
(INJ).
In any case,
the organ of
volume (VARA, VARB, VARC, VARD, VARE) to vary the volume is a piston
and permits a fast modification of the volume of compression and/or the
volume of aspiration for the rooms of combustion while penetrating more
or less into them. This piloting can make itself notably
by
injection of an incompressible fluid under pressure in the body hollow
ALE, or between VAR and the cover(CPG), or between (VAR) and the heads
of pistons (TPA, TPB, TPC, TPD), or by an electric motor equipped with
a reducer to screw without end pushing or withdrawing the piston made
by the organ (VAR) which regulates the compression rate. This piloting can make itself
independently for one or the other of the combustion rooms.
The amplitude of
this regulating
depends on the measurements of the parts of the motor. Other ways are
foreseeable to optimize the combustion, notably by the overfeeding
and/or the recycling of the burnt gases (EGR : exhaust gaz
recirculation).
