Design & Electricity : Sycomoreen This shelter benefits from an orientation East/ West with some shades. The ground surface is 5 m x 10.5 m. Its roofing has been renovated in a coherent aesthetic and technical way. The aim of this installation is to validate the integration of OPALE on small photovoltaic roofings with weak slope (20°) in a residential and / or suburbans environment, both aesthetically and technically. It has been connected to the electric grid on April 22th 2012. Since July 1st, 2012, it is observed with its operating system OPALE. Contrary to the OPALE Barn or the OPALE Dairy, this site only has the rainwater to fill its cistern : the pump is completely immersed with a floating breaker to stop the pumping in case of insufficient water level. The estimated production should be about 5000 kWh / year, either a saving in CO2 dismissals of approximately 2300 kg / year. Besides, the OPALE garage contributes to reload the CATHI with a clean electricity produced  to the nearest of its consumption, in order to reduce the on line losses. Finally, this 100% renewable energy makes more than to compensate the yearly middle consumption of a house of 100 m² (3000 kWh / year). It is also equivalent to a carbon well which has the same effect of a french forest of 3300 m².
