Overall Photovoltaics with Automated Liquid Enhancements (OPALE)

ORIENTATION AND SLOPE

The roof presents a slope of 50° characteristic of the local construction destined to unload the framework of the wintry falls of snow while permitting a substantial fodder storage volume in the farming context of the old time. This slope encourages the natural cleaning of the tiles with the inclemencies, and therefore the best impact of the solar rays on the photosensitive cells.

Orientation is South South East (favorable).

The plant works therefore at 95% of the optimum in France (full south and slope 30°) as shown in the array below

INSTALLED POWER

The South face of the roof spreads on a length of 23 m and a height of 7 m, of which 6,5m exploitable and will be equipped by Imerys photovoltaic tiles of 55 Wc on a surface of 144 m², either a power of about 15.84 kW peak (kWp) considering the 2009 photovoltaic outputs "from the cell to the network" (110 Wp / m²)"

CONNECTION TO THE EDF NETWORK (EDF : Electricité de France)

The electric line is on the right in background and is located unless 50 m of the building as well as an alternative power converter of 100 kVA lately installed in the village by EDF.

RELEVANCE OF THE ALTITUDE OF THE SITE

The middle cloudy cover is comparable to the one seen in plain in the same region. On the other hand, the inclemencies are there more abundant and will better clean the photovoltaic panels. Besides, the high altitude of the site (1200 m) allows a cooling of the photovoltaic tiles and a slightly more intense incidental solar radiance than in plain, both beneficial for the output.

INTEGRATION TO THE LOCAL ARCHITECTURE

By the choice of the Imerys photovoltaic rooftiles of small size and in the same color that the local blue lauses [local traditional tiles], and by the uniformity waited for the roofing, the project respects the mind and the colors of the local architecture while adapting it to the clean and modern energies.
